I would guess that the modem has a distinctive ring function. Station to
station calls are double rings and the double ring is what must turn on the
fax tones. Try checking your S registers for a fix.

could do something on any spare jacks you have, since an out-of-box TD-308

use Eudora 3.0.6 as my e-mail client. Just pop all the messages into a
mailbox, delete all attach files, and mass delete the contents of the
mailbox :-)

Of course I bid up to the magnificent sum of $288. Evidently, someone got
caught up in auction fever because the final price was $515
