According to the fine manual, the resistance is 40 ohms.  IIRC 24 gauge
cable is 55 ohms per 1000 feet :-)

You can try doubling up the pairs.  I can't believe that Pana is that
critical but I've never tried to run 1000 feet on a PITS set before.
