Dear Jason,
Thanks for the details. We have been using Spamassassin + ClamAV with Qmail

ClamAV and Qmail Scanner and How we can monitoer the emails with the

Hi Kunal
I don't understand what you mean with 'the execution of the command'.
There are two ways of changing the max-size:
1) You can reconfigure qmail-scanner (reinstalling it) adding the option
--max-size 10485760
2) Edit the file qmail-scanner-queue.pl (usually in

Hi Adrian
Line 3540 must be ad antivirus routine. So your antivirus couldn't
read the file.
What antivirus are you using at line 3540?
Try to increase the memory assigned to qmail-smtpd, just a guess.

Well it is feature or bug of QS. It happen very often, that you proceed

Hi Alessio
What you describe doesn't explain the duplicate emails. Qmail-Scanner

Well few facts.
Fpscan is not deamonized and its detection time is 20x-100x slower that
Clamav or Fpscand. It also double load of your server.
Fpscand is running in single thread and quite often get stuck. I belive,

It's a bug. ClamAV has changed the format they use for reporting versioning.

Has anyone ever get Qmail-Scanner running with Clam Antivirus and Dspam?
I have, but I run dspam from .qmail, not from qmail-scanner. And I don't
use the dspam cgi, each user has a spam folder where spam is delivered.

Hi
I'm very pleased to see that something is going on
here - not that there is something wrong with the
current QS version, though.
Regarding new features in v 2.0 - will there be an
option to block certain filetypes, regardless of the
extension? I'm thinking something like the "file"
command, b
Besides all new features and/or corrections about
q-s, I wonder about performance improvements in this version, so far.
BTW, I had searched in the q-s list (A LOT) about
keeping q-s persistent (in any possible way) but up to now I have no idea
if this is possible, how to do it and if it is worth.
"SA: required_hits ? / sa_quarantine +2.1 / sa_delete +4.2"
Why doesn't QS sense the SA required_hits?
This is strange.
Try this comand:
setuidgid qscand spamc -R -U /var/spool/spamd/spamd < /etc/hosts
Hejj, here is the problem.
:~# setuidgid qscand spamc -R -U /var/spool/spamd/spamd <

Seems good.
I suggest checking the following:
1) Check that spamd is running and working correctly from you qmail scanner
user (maybe it's a permission thing)
spamc -U /var/spool/spamd/spamd < /etc/hosts
(or some mail file, like sample-nonspam.txt which comes with SA)
2) Turn ON the debug for QS, Edit th
Hi everyone,
A few legit mails we received were blocked with the "message/partial.*
Message/partial MIME attachments blocked by policy" line in
quarantine-attachments.txt
I think I might also point out that the mails in question were all in
Japanese (which is a double-byte character set)

Seriously, Antivirus is a game of chase. In order to have any chance of
catching 99% of new viruses, YOU MUST RUN THE CURRENT AV VERSIONS.

Yeah, how about update to the newest clamav? .65 is like 8 releases
behind current.

clamav 0.65 is truly ancient. You most definitely need to update to a
newer version of clamav.
If you run clamscan from the command line you will probably see an error
informing you:

Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED - please update immediately
