Bernie Wunder made a set of brackets to mount the tail dragger gear legs to
the main spar on his KR-2S. These were welded 4130 steel. Bernie gave
those steel brackets to Mark Jones. My understanding is that Mark is using
the brackets on the Wunderbird that will soon be flying.

pounds. Level cruise was 142 MPH at 2800 RPM with a Sterba 52 X 52 prop.

I would avoid trying to control a trim tab with a single bowden cable. I
did that on my
Wow! 154 KRs. Now I know why the two FAA FSDO inspectors were arm wrestling
to see who would get to inspect my KR-2 for Airworthiness Inspection. Both
of them came out. They had never seen a KR until I sent the three-view
pictures as part of the inspection request.

When I finished my KR I called the FAA for an
first KR flight. There was lots of drama and people running for their
lives from an unintended aerobatic airshow. CG issues and multiple hardware
failures have since been resolved and N6242 is now reasonably civilized. A

On my KR2 project i am missing the pitot tube and am not sure where they
mount them on
Farmall H tractor. Do not believe the vendor (Great Plains) part number:
The real Zenith part number is on a metal tag firmly attached to the carb.

Ok, I have not been on here in years

Bent the nose strut and the swivel bolt doing a wheel barrow landing on the
first flight; no tire or tube damage. Tires and tubes are still doing fine.

just starting out, I definitely recommend you buy the supplement
and build the KR-2S. Besides, the KR-2 plans, as is, have a flaw that can
get you killed due to inherent aft CG. The supplement does fix that.

It's been a while since this subject came up, but I've had two flat
tires on landing due to a pinched tube, .--

. The whole
system, including the carburetor and gascolator, drains empty back to the
fuel tank selected in about twenty minutes. How the carb float bowl and the
gascolator empty is a mystery to me. If the fuel selector valve is set to
off, the system will retain fuel.
