Bob,
Put the already built outer wings on the airplane. Whatever it takes: build
the stub wing profile to exactly match the outer wing profile. Yes, there
will be a crease where the dihedral starts; fare that in best you can.
Trailing edge of the stub wing should match the aileron. Leave access for
WAF bolts and the torque wrench. You will need a new band to close the gap
between the outer wing and the stub wing on each side of the airplane. Make
sure you put in access covers on the bottom of the stub wings to get to
control linkage, pulleys, fuel lines, electrical, etc. without having to
remove the wing. Putting in access covers after the stub wing is closed can
be done , but is much easier and faster when you do that as you build. Do
put in a wing walk that will easily support a 200 pound passenger, if you
need to step on the stub wing to mount and dismount. Plan ahead for flaps
or belly board; those linkages go in much faster before the stubs are closed
in.

I have my stub wings stripped down to the spars and am now looking at
getting them rebuilt. Waiting for supplies to do new cables but in the
meantime I am wondering if trial fitting the wings onto the airplane (this
is a previously flying one) as I make the ribs to go in that area would be a
good way to get everything aligned back to original. I was thinking that if
I do that and they form a good continuous wing shape all the way to the
fuselage, then angle of incidence etc. would all be just as the original
setup which from the logs indicates it was a gentle and solid flyer. I am
just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this and if you see any
pitfalls to that instead of trying to build the stub wings according to
plans etc. as it seems each airplane is a bit different or unique.
Thanks to all for putting up with all my crazy ideas and giving me such
valuable advice.

Wing skn instructions are 30 pages. It costs a bunch to send them up there.
Send me your email and I will send them as email attachmeNts
