I had to rebuild my Zenith carb on my 2180 VW after the seals got messed up
with alcohol in the auto fuel. (Never again!) The kit cost $32 from a
Zenith dealer (free shipping). Zenith does not sell retail. They make
thousands of carb models for all manner of engines; mine would fit on a
Farmall H tractor. Do not believe the vendor (Great Plains) part number:
The real Zenith part number is on a metal tag firmly attached to the carb.

Ok, I have not been on here in years, or at least replied. I still read.
But, the MP3 carb as I recall is the same carb used on. OLIVER Tractors and
White Tractors. Going by long ago memory. Difference is the tractor version
had a cast iron carb body instead of cast aluminum in the airplane version.
The entire rebuild kit when I purchased from a tractor dealer was $28.00 .
It was for my Variety so it was legal for me to use. I'm not suggesting you
go down to your local tractor, dealer but if it was for your experimental
you could.

If it is for the Cardinal you probably need to start at your local FBO
repair shop. Parts are available from several sources including Aircraft
Spruce. Rebuild manuals / parts manuals are on the net. You can buy
entire rebuild kits for several hundreds of dollars and rebuild the entire
carb. By you I mean a certified A&P of if you do the work it will have to
be signed off by someone. You best put that shaft on your Christmas list
as they are not cheap. AAhhhh, the benefits of owning an experimental. I
just rebuild my carb this year for the price of the kit $450+, a few
borrowed special tools, and my X in the log book.
