Excellent post, Larry.
I managed to get 5 flights in my KR-2 before the nose strut broke and
destroyed the airplane. FAA FSDO determined the strut was defective
(cracked) before I installed it; end of story.
I still cherish that brief time in KR flight. The years of building allowed
me to help many others in their efforts. Were it not for the build process
I would likely not have met all those wonderful KR people: Jim Faughn, Steve
Bennett, Mark Langford, Larry Flesner, Bill Clapp, Joe Horton, to name just
a few. I unabashedly copied their fine examples in my feeble construction.
Waiting for my Challenger II kit.

Anyone building a KR2 or 2s or KR1 should not take my switching to light
sport as a reason to abandon their project.? I've had my turn on the
merry-go-round and looking to switch to another ride before the park
closes.? Everyone should be so lucky as to ride the merry-go-round (KR),
even if for a short time.? In my case 750 hours.? I'll never duplicate
my KR travels in a Challenger but a different kind of fun awaits.? Keep
building..............
