7x19 strand is much more flexible and will last much longer going around pulleys. Keep the cable lightly oiled to allow the internal strands to slide past each other going around pulleys. A frayed elevator cable jamming between the pulley and the cable keeper just ahead of the elevator bell crank was the cause of one KR-1 fatal accident that I know of.

In the archives it mentions 3/32 cable for the Kr. I am wondering if 3/32 7x7 galvanized is okay as that is what seems to be readily available here. I can find 3?32 7x19 but have to order it in. What are the current thoughts on the cable to use?
Thanks
