Are you really sure you want to seal around the new sole? How will the water
get into the bilge when someone comes below in wet foulies, or drops the
teapot, or inadvertently leaves the water inlet to the head unclosed when out
sailing?

erly adhere to the hatch frame if there is any
silicone residue (which there was, thanks to the PO). Perhaps the folks at Sika
can tell you the name of the product.

Any tablet that is capable of getting cellular data must have an internal GPS,
just like a cell phone. There does not need to be a cellular data link for the
internal GPS to work.
I'm sending this message on an older iPad that has never been connected to a

seen masthead lights affixed to a bracket on the top of the wheelhouse on a

A preventer is intended to prevent the boom from moving in an accidental
gybe - hence the name.
If you are doing a controlled gybe, the process is to release the preventer,
use the mainsheet to pull the boom back on center, then gybe, then ease the
mainsheet, then reset the preventer on the other
I think he means “Bail”.

close all my seacocks a couple of times a year to make sure they
are moving freely and they remain open the rest of the time; though I know
there are some on the list who close all the thru hulls when they leave the
boat for a week or two as insurance against a hose leak.
