Actually they are confusing a DOT tank ( vehicles like forklifts and marine)
with a recreational tank (BBQ grills and travel trailers). You would be
surprised at how many small warehouse and machine shop operations had
trouble getting tanks for forklifts filled when the rules for recreational
tanks went into effect.

Just try to find anyone who fills tanks for BBQ grills that actually
understands the rules. There is no point in trying to fill a boat tank
without an OPV.

Just to clarify, I had the tank recertified by a local licensed tech, it is
fitted with the proper valve. I think the comment by Robert Boyer is
probably right on, they are confusing forklift tanks with marine tanks.
