Yup, it's not just salt, but an extraordinary amount of excess minerals are excreted through the kidneys (think about kidney stones,) and can build up in the hoses and the tank as well. For the last couple of years I have done an annual job of flushing a bunch of fresh water through the system

Hi. If you are sure it isn't from a through-hull leaking, two possibilities come to my mind. 1) the keel joint may be leaking. Best fix is to drop the keel and re-bed it 2) hairline crack at the leading edge of the keel, from grounding damage. Loosen off the rig to lessen the downward force
