Hi Dwight

Ballantyne's Cove is mainly a lobster port. The season here is June and
July. This time of year there are some tuna charters run from here.

When I look through my spy glass I can see about a half dozen permanent
sail boats at the floating wharves, including 2 other C&Cs. Just down the
coast about 6 nm is Cribbon's Pt, home to a number of other sailboats, a
lot of Tanzers.

We get a lot of transiting boats here. We're the last stop for boats
heading to the Strait of Canso or the first for boats exiting the Strait. A
lot of our visitors are surprised by how sheltered the harbour is. Charts
have not been updated to show the 2nd breakwater.

>From Ballantyne's Cove, St Peter's canal is 56 nm, the Canso causeway is 25
nm, Pt Hood Island is 18 nm and Georgetown PEI is 35 nm.

The water is wet and warm. I swam here on May 19, only because I'd snagged
a trap line and wanted to free it without cutting. The water was 10 Celsius
that day, but hit 24 C a couple of weeks ago, before the latest storms.

Thanks for your interest
