I finally bought laptop.
Acer 2413 NLMi, Price is Rs. 32900/-
I am trying to install ubuntu 5.04 on it. After all
the setup is done, the GUI is not seen. (GUI not seen
in the live cd as well.)
Kanotix boots very well with the sound and xserver up

Its a 2 command process! apt-get update and apt-get
dist-upgrade - that's it!
And the best part is that it doesnt damage your data
