I didnt know that I can use kinternet for my lan card.
Will try it on the weekend.
Anyways, sify's internet connector is a simple script
that you run in a terminal. I have created 2 shortcuts
(login and logoff) on my desktop and am quite happy
with it.

Well, it took me 4 hours to install from the net.
Remember that Ubuntu has Gnome as default and if your
using synaptic then naturally its going to download
the kde from the net. I dont understand your cdrom thing...
