Hi,
here I am back again with the same old story (someone should remember
the "zig-zag pattern" thread some months ago...)
I had no time to make new attempts to capture with my DC30+, but now I
have a little, so I wish to try again. Yet, I know the problem is still
there, so I'm looking over t

What do you mean exactly? Is there some v4l configuration I should
check? Where is this filter set up?
Anyway, thanks for you kind

Dear
Hi,
both my miroVideo DC30+ and KWorld DVB-S 100 capture card show on every
frame a strange pattern that I never got before. I say zig-zag but I'm
not sure is the right expression. The best way to understand what I mean
is watching it with your very eyes.
I can provide a very short sample, but

Hi,
I just bought a DVB-S card which also has an analog input and is
perfectly recognized as a v4l2 card. It works with xawtv, though with a
slight problem that eventually will be the subject of another post, some
day.
I understand, if I'm not much in error, that lavrec should work with v4l

Yes, I can record, but the resulting images show a zig-zag pattern that
probably can be explained with what you say below: the signal is

Dear all,
at last I can capture again with my DC30+, but using a S-Video cable
only. As Bernhard suggested, the RCA connector of the card must be
damaged, while the S-Video connector works fine.

Hi!
I've using my DC30+ very intensively for a long time, until yesterday:
in fact, today it's not working any longer.
The kernel seems to be aware of it, as usual, but when I start xawtv I
get a black screen and the following messages in dmesg:

I'm sorry for your unlucky attempt! Here is the rest of my story...
I finally disabled the on-board sound card and got back to my old

I simply disabled e

Hi!
Recently I had to change the motherboard and since my PCI sound card is
very old (Ensoniq 1371), I decided to use the on-board card (C-Media,
alias AC'97, alias Intel ICH5, I don't know exactly what it is). It
works fine, but when I try to play some AVI file I recorded with the old

Hi,
I'm capturing an old Video8 tape at decimation 1, as I always do. Quite
often, I need to encode shifting fields, but that's no problem
(-Jfields=shift with transcode. e.g.).
But this is the first time I see that the fields are not shifted along
the whole output file from lavrec: for many m

I have a rather old Ensoniq 1371. It has been working fine for many
years, though it seems not able to sample at 48KHz. This has nothing to
deal with the subject, I guess.

I recently noticed lots and lots of inserted frames that I never seen
before. For example:

Apparently, they don't affect the quality of the recording, but I had

Hi,
I have a question about the tipical lavrec's output file, for instance
01.avi, 02.avi and so on.
Yesterday I was recording "Garfield" from the satellite, and everthing
went fine until I accidentally pressed CTRL-Z when the movie was over. I
meant to press CTRL-C, obviously. I don't remembe

Hi, everybody!
Some month ago, someone on the list, I guess Stephen Shultz and others,

Hi,
first of all many thanks to Bernhard and Steven for their help about my

I'm still here with a question about lost frames. Stated that I probably
need a signal stabilizer or such, what is the influence of number and
size of mjpeg buffers on lost frames? Do I get more lost frame

has anyone of you ever seen the above message from lavrec?
I never saw it until I upgraded my Ubuntu box from Breezy to Dapper. I

Hi,
I was making some practice with these wonderful tools under Ubuntu
Breezy, and never, I say never had interlace problems (I mean those
related to a wrong field order in PAL sources).
On the weekend, I finally upgraded from Breezy to Dapper, and everything
is working fine, but not mjpegtool

them digitally the best way.
