winecfg with kde4.3.1 worked without having to touch it. My use of wine
is just to play some Win98 games and they play fine now.

Alsa 0.9 is nowadays the recommended way to do things. I guess your
ALC650 is some Advance Logic chip? It's not listed in the Alsa sound
card matrix which does NOT mean that it is not working. What exactly did
you download? A closed source driver?

I have a new SB Live! from Dell with a different pci-id than the
originals.
I tried replacing the three instances of 0x0002 I found in the source with
0x0006 to get it to work and it looks like everything is working but I get
no playback. I can see everything in /dev and /proc.
Is anyone else ex

loaded the Quattro-driver package from M-Audio and Clemens'
midisport-firmware, but there isn't a USB??LDR.SYS file in the
driver archive. There are however USBAP4X4.SYS and USBAS4X4.SYS

used by ogg123 for audio output). But it isn't possible, so you can
either wait until the Ogg developers fix this, use ALSA's
oss-emulation or try playing with the buffer size option. I use
