You also will find, that practically every (semi-)pro audio software for Linux somehow requires ALSA as does Jack currently. > My front speakers are slightly monoish, and I'm not so sure what to do > about that. Could you test, if this happens with the OSS drivers, as well? I remember, that the SBLive shows up very complicated in alsamixer. Maybe there is just one setting wrong? Then: is this an older, very used soundcard? On my SBLive, the connections were soon worn out. I now prefer the sturdier connection on professional cards like the M-Audio Delta. > My hardware is the Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 conencted (analog) > to the Cambridge SoundWorks FPS2000 Digital speakers. A digital connection has advantages not only on Linux, because you can bypass the rather cheap digital-analog converters on the SBLive. ciao -- Frank Barknecht _ ______footils.org__ ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: ValueWeb: Dedicated Hosting for just $79/mo with 500 GB of bandwidth!
