I've been trying in vain to get the microphone working in Linux (checked
3.9-3.11 rc2, no pulse installed) on my Gigabyte G1.Sniper M5 (rev. 1.0)
(Intel Z87, Creative CA0132, latest bios F6h). Neither front nor back
jack work.
It's working properly on Windows 8 — but only if I hard boot into it
Just wondering any news when there will be official support for this card
(with good sound quality and multichannel)?

AlienVault Unified Security Management (USM) platform delivers complete

So I assume that there is a problem with 32bit applications doing
snd_hwdep_ioctl() calls to 64 bit ALSA kernel modules.

I've been trying to get midi playback to work for about 2 days now,
without any luck.
I am running Redhat 9.0 w/ kernel 2.4.20-18.9
I compiled ALSA 0.9.4 myself as follows:

I searched the web for 4 days for information, with no success.
I have only 2 channel output or 4 channel with "duplicate front" and
"line in as surround" enabled mixer-settings.
I did not manage to enable my center-speaker nor my subwoofer.

For some reason, the loopback device (snd-seq-dummy) and the mpu401
(snd-mpu401) do not show up in /proc/asound/sndtstat and aconnect -lio.
All I get are the OPL3, MPU401 and EMU800 of the SBAWE32.

Hi,
I'm trying to get the sound for my notebook (clevo 4600) working. It
says that it has an Intel 82801 CA/CAM ICH 3 chip with AC'97 Audio
Controller. Is this supported somehow by alsa ? Which driver do I have
to use ?

I have no Analogue Volume control window in my Patchbay/Router window,
never had it, never heard a tone but can see the meters PCM output
moving in Envy24control when I play a file. What can I do to get the
