Hello listmembers, may I ask you kindly for some help with installing a Midiman Delta 44 interface? Running alsa-driver 0.5.11 (=current stable version), libs, utils, and the envy24control mixer on Debian testing /2.4.10 (w/o DEVFS) / KDE 2.2.1. In the KDE controlcenter the ICEnsemble with the ice1712 chip is being seen. Ran ./sndevice.in or what the name was to create the device files, and alsaconf generated the proper modules.conf entires. The card shares irq=9 with an scsi controller and a NIC which may not be too lucky but I am not sure I can find an empty irq, and my Soundblaster Live that I used previously lived happily in that PCI slot. Output is to Outs 1 from where a cable goes to the Sony loudspeakers with builtin amps as before with the Soundblaster. Once after the install I got the Envy24control mixer started but unmuting any combination of sources and outputs brought no sound whatsoever. No, however, trying to shutdown the driver for a restart gives me

(sound is being used by pid 1628 ) pid 1628 is the kde kicker: ps ax | grep 1628 1628 ? S 0:07 kdeinit: kicker and: envy24control snd_ctl_open: Invalid argument rmmod of any of the sound modules does not work, "Device or resource busy". But I can see no processes that are dependant on kicker or that would use sound. How can I proceed?
