Well - there's no way to avoid the Fourth Law of Engineering: "It works
better if you plug it in" ... ;-)

Despite of the level of complexity of a software - when hunting a problem it
is always a good idea, to try respectively make sure trivial things first,
so I don't think there's alsa to blame ... at least this time ... :)
