Hi, I managed to get spdif out with my terratec aureon 7.1 space (envy24ht->ICE1724) but it's only in mono and bad quality. I have umuted IEC958 output and set everything to pcm (e.g. IEC958 and IEC958 1 out), but still it only mono :(
I have read this: http://alsa.opensrc.org/DigitalOut and this one: http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php?page=ice1724 and tried different .asoundrc but still no progress. I'am using Suse 10.1 with this alsa packages: alsa-32bit-1.0.11-32 alsa-firmware-1.0.10-13 alsa-1.0.11-32 alsa-tools-1.0.11-16 I have checked my digital receiver and the cable with my dat recorder: they work fine also the analog output of my soundcard works well!
