Hello Lawrie,

thanks for continuing the exchange. Well, I had already forgotten that
in the device manager I had a yellow exclamation mark. I tried the
drivers on a Win98 setup but it is already a bit rusty and perforated so
I did not pay too much attention to this.

Perhaps I should try the card in another box I am going to build in a
week or two. Here is some output (the SB-Live is working well):

# ls -las /proc/asound/

    0 lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root      0 Jun 12 01:17 Delta44 -> card0
    0 lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root      0 Jun 12 01:17 SB-Live -> card1

# ls -las /proc/asound/card0

    0 dr-xr-xr-x    3 root     root            0 Jun 12 01:18 pcm0p

# ls -las /proc/asound/card0/ice1712
    0 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Jun 12 01:19 proc/asound/card0/ice1712

I wouldn't have to alter permissions in these /proc sections?

Greetings,

Andreas
