Keep the Bleriot-- it is going to be a challenge to replace it if you regret selling it down the road (which is sounds like you will). I dont see an advantage to getting the Atlantis over the Bomba. Bleriot and Bomba is a great one/two combo. And it sounds like you are 95% sure you want the Bomba.

That Hilsen looks really nice and those bars are interesting. These new Surly bars look really good. I wish I had known about these before putting my albatross bars back on my Surly CC which I use for commuting. The albatross bars are really nice but these look better. Seems like they'd be perfect

You should be able to remove the excess with denatured alcohol and try again. Try using a little more of the alcohol to thin the shellac a bit. IMO, a good shellac job will greatly lengthen the life of the tape. I've done a set of bars with clear water-based polyurethane varnish instead of shel
