Get the Bombadil. Trying to have one bike cover both road and mountain--if
you do both regularly--can be a hassle. You'll be switching out wheels,
fenders, racks, whatever, when you go from one to the other. And if your
bikes are like mine, one always needs something to get fixed on it, so it's

Well, the SH does come in 650b but not in my size. And even then, I
believe it has the same tire clearances of the Bleriot so it would be
a wash.

The N-S has a reinforcing layer (which is absent in the lighter Maxy Fasty
model)) so your chances of "too far" are not great. How about rotating your
tires? I do at 1,500 miles.

worn off on the main contact patch in the middle.

I change handlebars/tape so often, I've had a lot of experience using
this stuff. :D
What I've found is that the first coat needs to be pretty thin, and
let it dry for a couple hours. Then i come back and start applying
heavier coats, but not so heavy it starts to pool or drip, just give

That Hilsen looks really nice and those bars are interesting. These

again. Try using a little more of the alcohol to thin the shellac a
bit. IMO, a good shellac job will greatly lengthen the life of the

Subjectively, it feels faster than my Atlantis. Although setup
differences make them really impossible to directly compare.
Of course, being a slow rider at the best of times (just ask the SoCal
riders) I am definitely not one to make judgements on how fast this or
that frame seems.
