The blade cut-outs in the aluminum spinner that came with my plane didn't
work with the Prince prop I bought soon after I got the plane home back

I needed to cut my Vans 13" spinner for installation with the Sensenich 54 X
54 prop on the Corvair. In the past, I used a Profile Copy tool, but could
not find mine and all I could Google up, were not deep enough. So I decided

I have tried to roll the flange for my spinner bulkhead on my lathe and it is
not working. The first attempt was 2024T3 .050. I clamped it between 2 pieces
of 3/4" particle board and bolted it on a face plate. Using a large ball
bearing mounted on my toolpost I managed to roll it about

spinners for a long time. Just do it right, use a bulkhead and don't leave
any nicks in the cutouts. This is nothing to panic over.

Could not tell you. The spinner the first time and the
prop the 2nd went so fast. I think the prop went up
because it took out about 5" of the top of the
cowling. The spinner who knows. I guess it all depends
on what position it is in when it lets go.

It all adds up. The air flow into your engine is one
of the biggest drags there is. I have had to spinners
come off in flight and one prop. Don't weary about
them hitting you. When the come off there are gone so
fast you don't have time to say O .

not come with any hardware to attach it to the spinner. I thought that I
had seen extra sets of screws in some where the forward bulkhead would
be. Does it need screws here or does just having it there with a friction

Two days ago, I was fitting my prop to the hub to turn the engine by hand
(I do that from time to time for preservation, when I notoiced something
very strange.

front end of the prop, after the crush plate whose function

is not balanced. I don't know what you should do, but, I would get a new
aluminum spinner and backing plate. Make sure it matches the thickness of
your prop and crush plate.

on the front either. However, I had them on my first KR and never had a

what failed on mine and almost cost me the front cowling. I think mine got
damaged during the hurricanes when the spinner took that hit, but the crack
took 24 hours of flight time to show itself. By then it had crack

I used a spinner off a Beech Baron...cut down to fit. Of course, I had to
build a backing plate to hold it on. Most repair shops have broken spinner
sitting around. They usually break near the base and can therefore be cut down
