Please forgive me for joining the group late. I am sure this has been covered
ad nauseam! But I have a quick question about my HIN#, specifically the last
four digits/letters which end in M78E. I understand that 78 is the production
year but have no idea what the M/E stand for?
Thanks so muchC
Unscrew the top off the port settee so you can see the underlying support
structure. Look at the horizontal surface just against the forward
bulkhead. That is where it is on our C&C 37 XL.

My primary HIN has been painted and is difficult to read. Is there a second
one somewhere on board?

Our extra HIN is also under the port settee. You have to unscrew the
settee top to see the hidden HIN so you wouldn't find it unless you had
that part of the boat apart for some other reason (or knew where to look).

Sounds like you are doing things right already, but the kids are pretty young
for cruising and won't remember much of it. Plan you adventures and just don't

Indigo's HIN is

ZCC35039M83J
The "M" is meaninglessit just identifies the HIN as 1 of 3 different

ZCC - Built in Niagara on the Lake
35 - C&C 35
039 - the 39th boat built
M - no meaning
83 - built in 1983
