I'm interested to do some tests. But it seems that latest upstream mainline kernel is related to Ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric) since it's called 'v3.2-rc3-oneiric'. I don't like 11.10 since it's much slower than old version, eg. 10.04 (at least when booting). If it won't make slower, I would like to test.
