Thank you for feedback. The nvidia-current package is not installed as shown in Synaptic. Maybe Ubuntu didn't detect well my Tesla cards. Ubuntu may improve this hardware detection later.
Another problem of nvidia-current package (actually as well as many other Ubuntu packages) is, this package is quite old (version 195.36.15), while my currently installed driver is 260.19.26 . And I notice that when I was installing driver downloaded from NVIDIA, the installer disabled (and uninstalled?) a "Nouveau" driver, which may have been automatically installed by Ubuntu, to avoid conflict. So it seems in the field of being compatible with such hardwares, Ubuntu still has a lot to do. I installed NVIDIA driver for CUDA program development. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/728194 Title: linux kernel installation removes my NVIDIA driver installation everytime -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
