After a week of Linux distros tests I settled yesterday with
manjaro-gnome-19.0.2. This distro worked fine with the latest version of
LyX.Concerning LyX synctex with Okular I have the following note to add to the
pageLyX wiki | LyX / SyncTeX
The following are necessary:
1) In Document > Settings
LyX version 2.3.4.3 work well in Windows 10 (Home Version 1909) as of my
tests.Slowness in saves seems to have disappeared.

In writing a document, I often need to write out an argument with
numbered premises and a conclusion. The best I can figure out for now
is to use the description code to label the argument, then nest in
numbered premises and the conclusion.
The problem with this is that the conclusion doesn't
e any trouble once I fix all that.

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to get the LyX buffer to display
paragraph marks at the end of each paragraph, but I can't find any
settings to this effect. For OpenOffice, it's under "View -
Nonprinting characters." Google searches return nothing useful. Help
please!

Never used Notepad++ but I would suggest vim diff. I guess its similar.
For many files, perhaps use the diff program instead, either on the lyx
files themselves, or a text export of them, which if you could easily
get from lyx with an AutoIT script (for windows).

I'm not sure what you mean by dead letters, but in my experience keys
do not behave in *exactly* the way either of you have described in OSX.
In 10.3.5 (as for all versions I have used, which is from 10.2
onwards), pressing opt, releasing opt and pressing e gives a

generates the same error message it must be a problem with
Imagemagick cooperating with ghostscript.
I know, it's a minor bug and lyx isn't even responsible, but I'd
really appreciate if somebody had a solution to this problem (or
some new ideas). The qt interface looks so great that I could
convince a couple of friends to use lyx easily if just that
previewing would work.
It would especially be helpful if people who have a working
configuration (versions of ImageMagick/GS) could mail details to the
list.

I believe that some mathcal fonts may have the lower case, and some others do not.
In particular, I know that mathptmx does not have lower case,
but I'm not sure which fonts might have lower case.

What kind of XML file do you have? If it's a DocBook one, you
page ends leaving a black space after the footnote. Is there a way for
force footnotes to start at (nearly) the same spot on all pages so if I
have extra space on a page it comes between my text and the footnote?

I can use in the latex preamble:

which gets the page numberings right, but displays "-1" and "0" on the

wrapping around it. When I go to Layout, Paragraph, I don't see a place
for extra options to put in the option floatfit, as is in 0.11.6. Is this
option put somewhere else, or not implemented yet?

way to customize the index sorting? What I need is to have any words
like "_exit" just before "exit" and not in the Symbol group.
I know that I can do something like \index{exit@\_exit} but I would like

I would like that when a table is created the SGML output can contain a
, especially when long tables are used.
In the GUI, long table heads can be defined (so something can be done
for docbook) but there's nothing for normal tables. Maybe it should be
provided too.

enough to make it clean and efficient. What I need is:
* Put the chapter/section/etc. titles in Arial (or Helvetica, isn't it
