I don't think so. It's supposed to be rated for 10A, and I was only
pulling 5.1A through it, and one just like it (bought at the same time
from AS&S) powered the same system on N56ML for all that time with zero

Well guys, the smoking gun on my ignition problems has been found. Last
weekend, at the request of William Wynne, I removed my distributor and shipped
it to him next day air for him to test my distributor on his machine. What was
found was that the shaft was worn extensively at the upper bushing

Try this on for size for a modern spin on the "old lawn mower" ignition.
Ready to install for VW guys, and I am sure not too hard to adapt to other

Air fuel mixtures are not easy to light off in a cylinder, that is why the gap
is so important. You can get the spark to jump across nearly 1/2" of open
uncompressed air, when just holding a grounded plug. But put that same plug
into the engine with just twice its recommended gap, and it will
There is one very simple and basic way to make sure your timing is on the
right stroke, the right cylinder, and pretty much the right place all at
once. This is a quick and dirty way to do it so I don't want to take away

Ken,
The wider plug gap will cause the voltage to build to a higher value before the
plug fires. This in turn releases more peak RF energy in a shorter time when
the plug fires. This produces a much stronger RF pulse; not good if you want
the best radio communications in the aircraft band, but

The auto plugs should have an R in the number. These are the resistor version
of the standard plugs and will greatly reduce radio interference (Rotax changed
their plugs to resistor type for this reason). If all else fails, buy some
metal braid that is used for grounding straps, etc. Put it o

A power filter can be fitted to the power bus of the radio stack. You can see
similar devices attached to most car stereo power leads for just this reason.
Ken,
A brute force line filter at the power inlet of the radio stack is great
insurance. Then it's not important to have a shielded power wire.
The ignition noise can be getting into the radio on the power wire or on the
antenna. One quick check is to have the engine running and disconnect t
For those of u that responded, Joe at Revmaster said what did I gap the

average of what they were gapped at in the box and set them all at .030.
He said that is probably most of the problem, regap to .016 they are

If you are going to use 100LL especially, running both plugs will not only give
