I am using one on a VW.  It is basically the same as the Great Plains
electronic secondary ignition.  Mine is a little different because the
engine is a Revmaster withhout the distributor gear so I am doing a magnet
block off of the back of the prop hub.  I suspect that the reason people are
not using them on the Corvairs is there is no easy way to get two sets in
the distributor for dual ignition, but it certainly would not be impossible.

how come no buddy's using pertronix or similar points replacement for there
disturbers.

I have look at mark Langfords  and couple others redundant systems and they
all have points how come electronic ignition is trouble free most of the
time?
