I set my mast rake at 10-12”, measured at boom level. I hoist my tool box on the main halyard so it is just off the deck. It keeps the halyard straight and steady. Measure from the aft side of the mast to the halyard. You can make small adjustments by lengthening or shortening the forestay.

Burt, Both blades are usually attached by a single large pin (Martec for example). You should see maybe an 1/8" of play between the blades. Martec rebuilds them by drilling the hole out for the next larger pin size. It lasts quite a while. Mine is over ten years old and still going strong.

Jason, You should be able to brace yourself against the prop to loosen the nut. The prop will definitely need a puller to come off. Buy or borrow a good one. It takes a tremendous amount of pressure to dislodge the prop. The application of a bit of heat to the prop hub may help, but go easy.
