Harold,
The issue, IMHO, is the low-point scoring system and I would suggest moving to
high point or cox-sprague.
With high point, a boat who beat more boats would get a higher score -- then
the boat with the highest score overall will win the overall award. Again, this

Older C&C's with the "stick built" interiors have wood beam supports under the
sole. Calypso's squeak and creak as the fasteners loosen and wear out the
joints. I have used many of the squeak reduction tactics but am resigned to
the major project of renewing the supports in the heavy traffic ar
I like rewarding the winner of the most competitive class. Use the differences
of scores of the top 3 boats in each class. Or use the difference in times of
the top 3 in each class. Winner of the tightest class is overall winner.
This will usually eliminate rewarding a strong boat in a weak c
I'm jealous. Spent the day pulling mushroom mooring anchors and replacing with

Our club is an informal racing group with some social events thrown in. We
don’t have a clubhouse and use volunteer racers as committee boats. We have a
wide variety of boats in our fleet with PHRF’s from 50 to 250 most years. This
makes scoring a real challenge. For many years, we have used
Would like to ask the list about scoring. In a fleet the winner of a series is
the low point boat based on corrected times for each race. We have three fleets
who compete for an overall trophy. The winner has been determined by the lowest
overall time for the race series. Each fleet sails the sa
When I redid our floorboards, I gave the top edge of the beams a single layer
of electrical vinyl tape to add a little cushion between the epoxy coating on
the boards and the fiberglass beams. I know they are called "floors" but it's
confusing.

I'm only guessing here but
When I tried to take up the floor on my 121 I was surprised to find that Tartan
had put a line of caulk on every beam. It made taking the floor up a disaster
as the silicone acted as an adhesive. On the other hand, I don't recall ever
