surprise. I think the area under the companionway winches was deemed
high-load. You want to permanently fill the holes, so epoxy, not sealant.
The tricky part will be getting a plug of epoxy to stay without cracking at
the e

4200 will not soak into the balsa and will fail in a few years.
Calypso has seen many hole filling techniques over the last 43 years. Even the
wood plugs with some type of glue failed.

I concur with Pat's advice, and in the last 6 weeks have filled 15 to 20 old
hardware mounting holes basically the same way. We do chamfer the top and
bottom of the hole to give the filled epoxy some extra resistance to movement.

It is straight forward to find delamination from rotted core. Without the
expense of a full survey the areas most likely to have delamination can be
checked by an amateur. I do recommend paying fo
