Reply to Shawn, (sorry, decided to leave off diplomatic and go for blunt - very
long list)
Ron, it seems you have a vision for CLUG. That's all that is needed at
times. A vision can sometimes be a magical thing that provides razor
like focus, and attract others.
As a past Prez, I have seen t
Hi all.
Let's discus the ideas of how to go forward, and make an impression. We still
have options, this need not be the end. I already see good ideas on the list,
and people eager for action.
It seems we have a severe shortage of t2 members, i will look into that
problem, and see if there is
I don't think anyone has the "goal" of destroying the group, in fact most
of what you describe are merely symptoms of disorganization and perhaps a
lack of support or interest. I see no malice here at all.
As for what you consider "wasting" your time, all I will say is that that

For Gustin;
What are you suggesting sir, that I cannot read, or that I am lying? If I said
that I cannot see an email address in the message, then that is what was taking
place sir. Is there a problem with that?
I was not really suggesting that there was malice on the part of the
leadership.
Agreed Gustin,
I don't think there is malice or intent here, people are merely busy
struggling with their lives.
Cheers
Sam

for Gustin...sorry if I am a bit touchy ...five hours sleep in the last 40
isn't helping
my concern I guess is instead of commenting on my email header, shouldn't
someone be wondering why, when a secretary was present, could membership fees
not be paid?
Ron
again, I am sorry ... not suggesting folks should be concentrating on what is
wrong but if your trying to go ahead, things that were not right should be
observed so that the same problems were not going to exist again

Ultimately, there are two options (if the opportunity still existed)
(1) change to clug.org, re-do the bylaws to better suit and wait until you
could become a 'legal entity' or a non-profit. Can't touch the current budget
or anything else associated with clug.ca though.
(2) stay with clug.ca (
When I contacted Kin I had mentioned the prospect of discussing the ideas for
the future of the group so he may be expecting that as well, not sure ... but I
think the most important issue first is getting membership upgrades I will
suggest 7pm on some evening soon. His message indicates th
Still trying to stay awake here . for the record, after schedule conflicts,
the two biggest issues cited for missing or no longer attending were (a)
getting no value out of the meeting and (b) not being able to input
suggestions or ideas.
And 'b' is the biggest problem I saw in the bylaws,
I have no knowledge of the bylaws issue. IMHO they should be easy to
change. All the club needs is at least a 2/3 majority vote. So the
club should organise a change to the charter and put it forth to the
membership and lets see.
Now I have been to CLUG meetings and I consider what the club doe
First for Terrell,
In one way, your right, it is not hard to change them. Depending upon the
change, it may not be hard to make it work in the bylaws either but also
depending upon what is desired, five or six other items may have to be changed
also and it all has to work together as a unified
Sorry ... one other thing comes to mind about changes in the bylaws when a
group is applying for non-profit status, the intended bylaws must be presented
to them and they must be approved before that status is granted. I am not
positive but I believe that extensive changes may also be gover
Ok, since you already have contact with Kin, try to fix a date like Tuesday or
Thursday in some public place with parking,
We can do 3 things:
renew T2 memberships ... that is literally simple.
Have kin (being a board member) enact 4 provisional board members to replace
the missing board memb
Sam already have suggested Thursday (thought Tuesday may be too soon for
all interested to make arrangements) to Kin and am awaiting word back from him.
Good so far.
About the memberships, right there ...simple and quick
About replacing FOUR ... have to ask here ... are you wanting/needing
Sam ...I spoke with Mel on the phone yesterday and a couple of T1 members have
communicated the same things about this. It was their feeling that the group
should, before the next AGM meeting, make certain that there is no danger of
the group dissolving at that meeting. I believe the sentiment
Yep, sounds like the rational thing to do. Let's rebuild the executive board,
as needed, and get the registrations done before the AGM, then hold the AGM
and see what we get. Elections are a coin toss, and we respect the outcome, we
just can't predict it accurately.
It looks much better that w
For Gustin J.
Hope that you decide to make it to the signup as I would like the chance to say
sorry to you in person.
