OK, seems like each year it puts a whole lotta A&P's in a precarious situation of signing off an airplane and an engine that really don't know what might have been done since they last saw it. The airframe is obvious but the engine not so much. Glad I don't sign off other peoples plane for a living.
More info: Today the FSDO put my plane back into phase 1 for 5 hours because I installed a new O-235 and not the original O-290. They also gave me new operating limitations. I have an IA friend that trusts all my work on this plane and my 61 Colt but that will end this year when I retire and move away. Thanks for the education. Hope to fly the Smith to the gathering this year if I get moved to Rockford in time.
