+1 to about the situation for non English speaking environment. They just don't know what it means.
>From my personal experience, I think the term PMC is misused to mean PMC members even in English speaking environment just because of the fact that PMC itself is already an acronym that is easy to say compared to 'PMC members' as two words. Especially when you are not really a foundation member, it does not feel that awkward. Your brain might not even be processing what the term means when you say that. My 2 cents is, it does not really matter as long as we know what people are trying to convey. In many cases, it might appear as condescending to correct the usage of this term in the middle of a conversation, and you know people are not intentionally misusing it.
