Hi Rush, clear! Though many EVs do not lock the J1772 plug, so unless the owner took care to somehow lock it, or if the vehicle provides for the lock (like in Europe, where the EV'er brings the cable and thus wants it to lock into their EV) any thief can simply walk away with the complete EVSE. Likely the reason the NEMA 14-50 is not protected either is because it is only powered with the App, so there is no problem of stealing power. And stealing the EVSE is not the problem of this project ;-)
