Free is not the correct English word to start with; it must have been "Open". Actually it must have been Free (no cost to you) and Open (anyone can add content); just Free doesn't cut it. That said, 'svataMtra' is inappropriate svataMtra has these connotations: capable of making ones own choices and decisions, and providing ones own means; not answerable to anyone. svataMtra really means "Independent", not Free. A svataMtra viSvakOSa is not necessarily Free or Open. mukta is not perfect; it means "unfettered" and in that sense it acquires sonme connotations of Open (as in mukta dvAra, mukta vAtAvaraNa). But it's certainly less inward looking than svataMtra. I vote to change the svataMtra back to mukta.
