By "display is jerky" I mean:
1. Jerky playback with gmplayer: the image refreshes a few times per
second but not 24-30 times as it should. The result is a jerky movement.

exposed by this particular configuration.

I did more tests and I found that the bug doesn't occur if I set the
memory mode in BIOS to:
DDR2-667 instead of -800
It looks like the memory is bad but that's probably not true for the
following reasons:
-both the memory and the motherboard are spec'ed for DDR2-800
-the same memory

Suppose that someone installs just the base system and not the desktop
packages. This could be done for example on a server.
After rebooting the user is stuck since he/she cannot install anything else
from the CDROM.

"The file system does not support setting a label"
However, the same bug appears when trying to set the label of a formatted
ext4 partition, and also for a ntfs one.

I just tried to install Kubuntu 11.10 from the alternate CDROM for
amd64 and I get the same error:
-apt-get says the package libsasl2-modules is not available.
Doing a "find" on the root of the CDROM, it seems that it is present
at
/pool/main/c/cyrus-sasl2
So why apt-get cannot find

Using wine I can run "Disasteroids 3D.exe" very well.
However the "ksysguard" displays the memory allocated for this program as 6TB
or so (see the attached image).
The "top" command displays a reasonable value (see attached image).

Each time I want to display a Flash video in Konqueror, I get an error
message saying that some plugin crashed (see attached screen capture).
It crashes on all Youtube videos, and many other Flash sites.

As I mentioned before the WiFi card is recognized and the drivers are
automatically installed:
