TO: Christopher M. Penalver (penalvch) I tried the procedure using the linux-crashdump package, but unfortunately there was nothing saved in /var/crash.
In more detail: I did: echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/panic_on_oops as root, then played the video which crashed the system. After reboot, there was nothing saved in /var/crash. Just to be sure, I also did the test crash using: echo c > /proc/sysrq-trigger as root, and this time there was a file saved in /var/crash. Then I did the real crash test again, but still noting was saved. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/981813 Title: Linux freezes when playing video To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/981813/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
