In Windows XP the crashes do not happen when playing videos.
So far we know the following:
-no crashes in Windows XP
-regular, reproducible crashes when playing videos using the NVidia drivers:
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-270.41.06
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-295.40
-instantaneous crash when inserting the Nouveau module:
depmod nouveau
Since the Nouveau module crash is different from this bug (at least in its
behavior), I'll open another bug specifically for it.
It also seems the easiest to debug.
