Public bug reported: Trying to add the installation CDROM to apt-sources failed with the following error message:
# apt-cdrom add -d /media/TMP_Mount1 Using CD-ROM mount point /media/cdrom/ Identifying.. [f786c25bd8e5422d38fa6adc60888f06-2] Scanning disc for index files.. Found 0 package indexes, 0 source indexes, 0 translation indexes and 0 signatures W: Failed to mount '/dev/sr0' to '/media/cdrom/' E: Unable to locate any package files, perhaps this is not a Debian Disc or the wrong architecture? The CDROM is the alternate install CDROM for Kubuntu 11.10. It was written to a USB key (partition /dev/sdf1) with Unetbootin and it was mounted manually to /media/TMP_Mount1 Why does apt tries to mount /dev/sr0 ? Why does it ignore the path I gave it with the option "-d" ? ** Affects: apport (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/948937 Title: Cannot add the install CDROM to apt sources To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/948937/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
