If it s not powered this is the most likely cause of the sudden
ejection of the device. Try plugging it directly into the Mac and see
if it still spontaneously ejects.

Also there is MacTheRipper currently at V3 soon to be V4 this app
gives you complete comtrol on what you want to extract from the movie.
ie subtitles, audio streams, movie only etc.

Yes Any format of sound that quicktime recognizes can be used.
If you would like to add your own sounds to the list of system wide
alert sounds etc. You can create a folder named "Sounds" without the
quotes and note the capital first letter

o get away with the mini DVI to DVI adapter but YMMV.
This all has something to do with the video card in the meini not
knowing what size to default the screen to for a given screen.
In the case of total VI users this is quite annoying.
All the same give it a go and if it works thats great.
