As Everyone including myself has said befoe OPEN the iso file and if
you get a finder window with the contents or at the very least an icon
on your desktop or sidebar with the name of the disk then is HAS
MOUNTED correctly. It will behave just like a virtual CD or removable
drive regardless of its size! I have a couple myself at about 12GB and
they work fine. You did say in your fist post that you could see the
contents of the iso so what is the problem? Who cares about the buzz
word (ie Mount vs Open) used to see the contents of a given archive
which is what an iso/dmg is as long as you can access them.

So what you really want is the Auto-run (Which should be turned off to
prevent viruses) feature from Windows in OS X?
Obviously if its a windows disc or some other OS this will not
happen. The Best you will get is the finder automatically opening a
new finder window to show the contents once the archive has been
loaded correctly.
