I agree. I used to have this problem with the TrackPad Commander turned on. Now
I keep it disabled and just enable it if I need to use it for a specific task,
and then turn it off again.
Just as a reminder, you can turn TrackPad on and off by pressing VO keys and

Well, I unloaded VO and relaunched without change. Something visually must
have happened. I went into preferences and didn't see anything to modify. I

I thought about that. The problem is that a new file is added when the download
starts (the .download file), and then changed to be the downloaded file when
the download is complete. So, it would play the sound when the download starts,
but I don't know if it would do so when it finishes.

This may sound like a complicated solution but what if one could set up Hazil
and create a rule to monitor the Download folder and have it play a sound file
whenever a new file is added to that folder.

I did as you said, and in the .vmx file, this is what's got to do with sound:

sound.fileName = "-1"
sound.autodetect = "TRUE"
sound.pciSlotNumber = "34"

various desktop items seems to sort things out. After tabbing once or twice, I
can usually go back to using the arrow keys.

Just one correction: It is true that DocuScan cannot do OCR on JPGs, which is a
shame, but it can scan multiple pages into one file. I do this all the time and
it is really easy.
