I love DocuScan as it's so accessible. It's so easy to scan things and convert 
them. I can create MP3 files and add them to iTunes. It automatically rotates 
pages, gives you feedback if the page looks blank and generally produces 
fantastic results.

I think the problems most people have with it are twofold:
1.      The price tag. It's $299 for a lifetime subscription, which is not 
cheap.
2.      The scanned files are not editable. This means it's only really useful 
for books or letters and things which you want to read only. If I want 
something to be editable I use Nuance PDF Converter.
