Hi Krister, Open the folder where your virtual machine is located. Usually, this is in ~/Documents/Virtual Machines. You should have a file there with the name of your virtual machine, for example, Windows7.vmwarevm. Press VO-Shift-M on this file, and select "Show Package Contents". Find the file called Windows7.vmx, press VO-Shift-M again, open the "Open With" submenu, and select "TextEdit".
In the file, search for the line that reads, 'sound.virtualDev = "hdaudio"'. If you find this line, you are already using the hd audio card. You may want to add 'sound.playBuffer = "100"' below the virtualDev line to try and decrease the latency. Hope this helps.
