New to Debian and PPC linux - been using linux on Intel for some time.
I recently installed etch on a Lombard (400 Mhz G3 - bronze keyboard
- - SCSI) and after all the updates were installed it seems to be a
pretty good solution
I've just installed testing and then "dist-upgrade"d it to unstable. I'm
new with linux in portables, and this machine is a Powerbook G3 Lombard
(Bronze Keyboard). I installed pbbutons and gtkpbbuttons. For X I
installed X11 and XFCE. gtkpbbuttons is not working apparently
use section for the X config files (XF86Config-4),
but in my powerbook (lombard 333) the mouse only responds to up and down
movements, and in the pmac 7200 works great...
I've had a lot of problems trying to install debian on this powerbook.
Now, apparently, everything else is working fine, ex

In general, you can try moving some old code that relates to your
machine (pmac specific stuffs or drivers) to 2.4.21 and check...
One possiblity would be USB, did you try if usb-ohci driver
isn't loaded ?

Sorry that I've let you wait so long for an answer. I didn't have the
time back then to do more tests, and so lived with the old reliable
2.4.18 kernel in the meantime. Recently I've upgraded to 2.4.21, and
the wakeup "poweroffs" have happen

Yep, that seems required for the Lombard panel. Either the vertical
refresh rate is really that
& maximum values?
Also, what affect do the "DMAMode"/"mmio" arguments have? The default
arguments (added by debconf) were "UseFBDev"/"true"

i recall several threads here about getting xfree86 working on lombard, the
reassuring answer it that it does! and with acceleration ( if you are looking
for a chall
