Try racing on the Columbia River with 8’ 6” of draft. Two weeks ago I ran
aground 7 times over the weekend. Fortunately it is mostly sand. Although I
did find one rock. To complicate things, the river is constantly changing
while the charts are not.

I order to put batteries under the floor boards I went to AGM's. You can

A couple of caveats. Use 1/8 by 1/4 double sticky closed cell foam on
inner edge of windows to provide minimum thickness of sealant and look good
from inside the cabin. Make sure that new windows have eased and sanded
edges. Any minor nick can be the start of a new crack.

I replaced the rubber gasket in my Bomar forward hatch that I got from a

I hope someone on the list may have a suggestion as to
of their rating could be a little soft and easily sailed to their ratings.
Many of the older C&C were built to offshore rating rules and are sometimes
more difficult to get to their rated speeds.

I can't imagine trying to use the short end of the pole as a tiller - there
is no leverage.

This is off topic, but what did soda blasting cost? Secondly, did the boat
yard charge to having soda blaster work on site? Yards here either won’t allow
outside contractors or charge them to work in their yard.

If so, it sez 8.5" (216 mm) bolt hole circle, the same as #36.

I have 2 lever operated bronze valves for cockpit drains that are frozen. I
need suggestions as how to free them up an keep them from freezing again.
Since they both drain above the water line, I haven't worried to much yet,
but they should be freed up.

Fred,
I have at least one of the cockpit drain thru hull valves I removed from Cool
Change several years ago. They are held together with four bolts. I am not
sure if it is an original valve. If you want it you can have it.
