I used Minwax Polyurethane for my interior. I was able to sand out much of
the minor defects in the old varnished floor boards. I put on 3 coats of
satin finish. After that I buffed the floors out with a fine rubbing
compound to give that hand rubbed look. The Minwax flows out beautifully,
leaving no brush strokes. Buffing out the finish removed any dust bunnies.
The Minwax site does not recommend using their product over unfinished teak
because of potential moisture in the wood problems.

The local shipwright has been using Minwax Polyurethane, and likes the
results over the years. I bought the helmsman interior/Exterior satin for
down below, but my buddy has been using the straight polyurethane on his
sole, see

I would not second guess him, his boats are always spectacular when he is
done. The indoor/outdoor has some softening agents, but they don't think
they are needed down below. I will use the straight poly on the floors.

Thanks, Dwight, but I'm looking for interior varnishing.

I am about to refinish the teak on the interior of Expresso. The
question is, what varnish should I use ( Satin, gloss, Epiphanes, MinWax,
